Visa information for the UAE

It is the responsibility of each Congress participant to investigate the visa requirements for the UAE and apply for a visa if necessary. Participants are strongly encouraged to apply for their visas as early as possible.

Fast-track process for visa applications

The UAE has introduced a fast-track process for visa applications. There will be no cost for visas processed through this system. Access to the fast-track process will be provided directly by the UAE authorities via email to participants who are fully registered, have paid in full, and requested a Visa Invitation Letter during Congress registration.

Entry requirements by nationality

• Nationals from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries – no visa is required to enter the UAE.
• Other nationalities – please check if a visa is required by visiting the UAE government’s official visa information page.

Visa invitation letter from IUCN

Participants who complete their registration for the IUCN Congress 2025 will be eligible to request a Visa Invitation Letter from IUCN. This document can be used to support the visa application. The Visa Invitation Letter confirms the participant’s registration for the event and may be required by UAE authorities as part of the application process. Participants can request a Visa Invitation Letter during registration. The letter will only be issued once the registration is complete and fully paid.

How do I obtain a visa for the UAE?

The UAE has introduced a fast-track process for all registered participants who have requested a Visa Invitation Letter during Congress registration.

Access to the fast-track procedure will be communicated directly by the UAE authorities via email to participants who have fully registered, paid the full fee and requested a Visa Invitation Letter during Congress registration.

Does IUCN provide any form of support in the visa application process?

IUCN does not process visas applications directly. Participants can request a visa invitation letter when registering to Congress. Please note that only those who have completed and paid for their registration in full will receive this letter. The visa invitation letter can then be submitted as a supporting document when requesting a visa.

Participants requiring a letter of invitation for visa purposes can request one while registering for the IUCN Congress 2025.

What if my visa application is unsuccessful?

Participants whose visa applications are denied should contact the nearest UAE embassy or consulate for further assistance. Alternatively, you may contact the Congress team at congress.visa@iucn.org for support.

What if I am having problems with my visa application?

IUCN does not have access to the UAE visa system.
