Dr. Alexandria Proff is an Associate Professor of Education and Chairperson of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, where she leads the university’s largest and most multidisciplinary department. Over the past six years, she has overseen the successful redesign of the Master of Education program, doubling enrollment and positioning it as a flagship graduate offering. She also established the Office of Academic Integrity, embedding trust and accountability into the institution’s culture. Her sustained record of impact on higher education leadership and pedagogical innovation has earned her recognition as a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE (SFHEA). A transformative educational leader with more than 15 years of experience across schools and universities, Dr. Proff is recognized for driving institutional change through evidence-based decision-making, high-impact educational practices (HIEPs), and equity-focused curriculum innovation. She teaches courses in leadership, change management, and research within the Master of Education in Educational Leadership program, preparing current and future school leaders to meet complex challenges with vision and integrity. She has spearheaded cross-cultural exchange programs that have impacted hundreds of students globally, secured over $115,000 in competitive funding to advance projects on empathetic leadership and educational equity, and mentored graduate students and faculty in research, publication, and leadership development. Her scholarship explores the intersection of education, leadership, and the advancement of girls and women in the Arabian Gulf, with publications in Gender in Management and Frontiers in Education. Originally from southern California, Dr. Proff earned her Doctor of Education from the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. Since relocating to the UAE in 2010, she has brought both a global perspective and a deep regional commitment to her leadership, scholarship, and mentorship.
