Dr. Khawla Al Hattawi, an Assistant Professor in the General Education and Foundation Program, holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Reading and a Master’s in Strategic and Security Studies from the National Defense College. With additional certifications as a Trainer, a Business Continuity and HACCP professional, Dr. Khawla brings a wealth of expertise to her role. With over 23 years in the UAE government and Semi-government roles, she brings extensive experience in both Technical and Senior Management positions.

Dr. Khawla’s research focuses on Science and Technology, particularly in areas like Environment and Sustainability, Occupational Health and Safety, Food Security, Bioterrorism, and Innovation.

Actively involved in professional communities, Dr. Khawla is a member of the Emirates Association for Management Consultants and Trainers, the Environment Friends Society, the National Geographic Association, and an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute, UK.
