Elder Neil L. Andersen has served as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 2009. This governing body, under the leadership of the Church President, oversees more than 17 million members across over 200 nations and territories.

Since entering full-time Church service in 1993, Elder Andersen has played an important role in international religious outreach and humanitarian initiatives. His current responsibilities include chairing the Church’s International Coordination Committee and leading the global volunteer organization JustServe, which operates in more than 17 countries and 2,300 communities. He also supervises Church spiritual and humanitarian activities in Mexico and the western United States.

Throughout his service, Elder Andersen has frequently engaged with ambassadors, senior government officials, and heads of state, promoting interfaith dialogue, humanitarian cooperation, and community service around the world. He is based at the Church headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Elder Andersen holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University. Prior to his full-time Church service, he worked in business in Florida, with interests in advertising, real estate development, and healthcare.

Elder Andersen married Kathy Sue Williams in 1975, and they are the parents of four children. He speaks French, Spanish, and Portuguese in addition to his native English.
