UAE Representative, Tikkun Olam Makers (TOM)
Jean Candiotte the UAE Representative for TOM: Tikkun Olam Makers – a global, humanitarian, tech-for-good platform. Jean has a background in media, and is an Emmy-nominated Writer, Producer, and Creative Director. She is a Co-Founder of the Jewish Community of the UAE. As part of her work at TOM, Jean brings together students, designers, and professors to contribute inventions to improve the lives of People of Determination around the world. She was proud to be part of TOM’s landmark innovation awards ceremony held during Expo 2020. Jean’s media career began in New York, where she later served as Senior Vice President for Oprah Winfrey’s Oxygen Network and NBC Universal. In 2014, a new position brought her to the UAE. Jean co-wrote and edited the chapter on the Jewish Community for the book “Celebrating Tolerance,” published by the UAE’s Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. She is Dubai Producer of the award-winning documentary “Amen-Amen-Amen,” about religious tolerance in the UAE, and also appears in the film. Jean has been a guest speaker at the European Parliament and to numerous international delegations on the topic of founding a Jewish community in a Muslim nation. She is honored to work alongside fellow leaders from all faiths to promote tolerance and coexistence. Jean currently spends her time between the UAE and New York.
