National Secretary of "Les Républicains"
Director of European Affairs at the Combat Antisemitism Movement

Shannon Seban is a French political leader and activist, currently serving as National Secretary of “Les Républicains” in charge of combating antisemitism and racism. She is also Director of European Affairs at the Combat Antisemitism Movement. From 2020 to March 2026, she served as a city council member in Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis), where she was responsible for promoting secularism (laïcité) and fighting discrimination. Born to immigrant parents from a modest background, Shannon remains deeply committed to building a brighter future for her department and to countering the rise of political extremism at the local and national levels. Shannon has worked extensively within European institutions and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and has served as a senior advisor to several ministers, including two years alongside Bruno Le Maire, France’s Minister of Economy and Finance. She firmly believes that Europe’s future depends on unity, shared democratic values, and resilience in the face of extremism. A longtime advocate against political and religious radicalism, she ran as a candidate in both the European and legislative elections with these issues at the core of her platform. Her outspoken commitment has also made her a target of antisemitic hatred. In July 2023, she was defamed by a neo-Nazi figure who mocked her with an antisemitic slur. In June 2024, during her legislative campaign against a prominent far-left leader, she was physically assaulted and insulted as a “dirty Zionist.” Shannon filed legal complaints in both cases, determined to ensure that antisemitism, racism, and fanaticism never go unchallenged. Today, she is a recognized voice in French media and political life for her unwavering defense of secularism, Republican values, and interfaith dialogue. She regularly engages with ecumenical delegations — including imams, rabbis, and priests — and speaks at international conferences on the global fight against hatred. On May 21, 2025, she published her first book, *Française, juive… et alors ?* (*French, Jewish… So What?*), a powerful personal and political essay addressing the resurgence of antisemitism, the erosion of France’s universalist ideal, and the growing influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in French society. Drawing on her family’s immigrant journey and her attachment to the Republic, Shannon calls for a resolute and uncompromising fight against all forms of hatred and extremism.
