
Dr. Jeffrey Bradshaw
Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC)
Jeffrey M. Bradshaw (PhD, Cognitive Science, University of Washington) is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). He helped pioneer the research areas of multi-agent systems and human-agent-robot teamwork, and his first book on the topic, Software Agents, became a classic in the field and a best-seller for The MIT Press. Recently, Jeff inaugurated the international Multi-Agent System Safety and Teamwork initiative (MASST) with a first workshop in London involving research colleagues from around the world (November 2025). A second MASST workshop is set for April 2026 as part of the AAAI Spring Symposium in San Francisco. Jeff maintains active partnerships at universities and research centers worldwide. He was a keynote speaker at the UDST First International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (Qatar) and has lectured at several other universities in the Middle East, including Khalifa University of Science and Technology (UAE), KFUPM (KSA), and KAUST (KSA). Jeff and his wife Kathleen are the parents of four children and seventeen grandchildren. Since 2015, they have been heavily involved in part-time volunteer service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in central and west Africa.
