Qualification:

  • Sheikha holds 1 a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (2016), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering, from United Arab Emirates University, and Project Management Diploma from Cambridge University-2009.

Career overview:

  • She has 22 years of professional experience in the public sector, in which 19 years she had been working in the Environment Agency’s core environmental management and protection programs and operations as executive director for the Environment Quality Sector, and three years leading the Social Monitoring and Innovation Sector within Department of Community Development. Her new role involves the monitoring of social challenges and trends in Abu Dhabi Emirate. In addition to conducting social research in the various social areas related to the wellbeing of Abu Dhabi Community and propose the key potential innovative solutions.
  • She is also leading the Strategic Affairs Sector in addition to her current role from February 2024 till date. She is currently managing the Social Sector Strategic Portfolio of Abu Dhabi Government, as Department of Community Development is the competent regulatory authority of the Social Sector in Abu Dhabi.
  • Oversight of the social operators (3 entities) strategic plans and performance and oversight of the strategic projects and KPIs according to Abu Dhabi Executive Office guidelines.
  • 19 years of professional experience with EAD in the Agency’s core environmental management and protection programs and operations, spanning air quality and climate change; waste management; environmental policy and regulatory development; strategic planning; and executive leadership. She has been leading EAD’s Environment Quality Sector, which is responsible for monitoring and analysis of Abu Dhabi Emirate’s air, marine water, groundwater, and soil quality monitoring; development of environmental policies and regulations; and environmental permitting, and enforcement and compliance with environmental permits and regulations
  • Lead author of “Climate Change State of Environment Report – 2018”
  • Devoting to developing Talents with Focus on young National Talents:

Four of  her youth team members  (among 400+ candidates) have been selected in “UAE Experts” Program.

  • Co-author of several international scientific papers related to Air Quality, Marine Water Quality and Climate Change.
  • Within the Social Sector, her main achievements during the three years; Oversight of the “Social Insights and future foresight of Abu Dhabi”, Activation of the Impact Assessment Unit within the Department Community Development, Oversight the restructure of the Department of Community Development in 2024, Oversight the Social indicators indices (Family Cohesion, Social Cohesion, Financial literacy, etc) and coordination with Ministry of Community Empowerment and local entities at the level of the emirate.
