H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Authority, is a distinguished Emirati leader and government official with extensive experience in public administration, healthcare, diplomacy, energy, and strategic governance. Born in Abu Dhabi in 1973, H.E. holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marylhurst College, Oregon, USA, and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology, Abu Dhabi. He currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, in addition to holding several prominent positions across major governmental, healthcare, investment, and development institutions in the UAE. Throughout his career, H.E. has held numerous senior leadership roles, including Under Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority, Chairman of the Energy Authority, and Member of the Abu Dhabi Supreme Petroleum Council. He has also contributed significantly to national development initiatives, institutional governance, and strategic planning across multiple sectors. H.E. has completed several executive leadership and governance programs at internationally renowned institutions including Harvard Business School, Oxford University, and the Singapore College of Civil Service. In recognition of his leadership and contributions, he has received numerous prestigious awards and honors, particularly for his efforts in advancing healthcare excellence and leading Abu Dhabi’s response during the COVID-19 pandemic. His accomplishments also include supporting the development of government structures in the Western Region, establishing the Abu Dhabi Motor Club, and contributing to various humanitarian, social, and community initiatives locally and internationally.
